Before we talk services, it helps to know why plumbing here is its own craft. This suburb was subdivided from citrus orchards and rural land in 1967, with the northern side built out through the 1970s and into the 1980s.
Mostly brick, mostly detached. What stands today is overwhelmingly brick-veneer and double-brick family homes on generous blocks, with very little unit stock. Much of the original plumbing is still in the ground.
Clay drains under it all. Houses from that first wave were typically laid with earthenware clay drainage, and fifty-plus years of reactive clay soil and shale has left those pipes cracking and jointing apart in the older streets.
Roots find every crack. Add the dense native canopy, big eucalypts shading Eucalyptus Drive, Spotted Gum Road and the blocks backing onto the valley, and tree roots find every cracked joint. It is the single most common reason people call us.
